Why do they charge for 1 year olds???

I am getting more and more baffled at the places that charge for 1 year olds and even 2 year olds in some instances. Elmo is coming to Las Vegas and my kids LOOOOOOOOVE Elmo. Pierce will sit down and watch all 15 minutes of Elmo's world when it starts on Sesame Street. He even hums the theme when it is over. Today I decided to see how much tickets were for this event. I know opening nights are generally cheaper to work out the kinks. So opening night tickets range from 13-30 dollars. But they charge for seats starting at 1 years old. Who puts there 1 year old in their own seat especially the folding kind on the floor at most shows where they would fall right through?? I don't think I would even let Liam at 2 sit in his own seat. I think this gauges families!!! So I plug in a 13 dollar ticket to see what tax is.

Ticket Purchases
4/23 7:00PM SESAME STREET Date: Thursday, April 23, 2009Time: 7:00 pm
Price Type Regular
Price Level PLAZA

Section 105
Row EE
Seat(s)1-5
Qty 5
Price 13.00
Parking/FacilityFee 2.00
ServiceFee* 3.45
Amount 92.25

So not only are we charged for a 1 and 2 year old but we are charged for parking per person. My family of 5 pays 10 dollars for parking, where family of 2 pays 4 dollars. Shouldn't it be a per car charge?? That is ridiculous!! We haven't gone to the children's museum here because they charge at age 1 as well. 7 per child. How does a 1 and 2 year old who will sit in a stroller the whole time have to pay a full price? I am so mad about all the extra charges!! I would love to take the kids to see Elmo, I guess I will try to win tickets on the radio!

Cut my hair!

I have been going crazy for months wanting to cut my hair. I think pregnancy does that to you everytime! But I have grown my hair out on three occasions now to donate to locks of love and cut it before I had enough because it was driving me nuts. If I had hair like a pantene commercial maybe I wouldn't mind so much but mine ends up in a clip or pony tail everyday! I talked myself out of it enough this time. I found a salon near the new house. It is hard for me to find a hair stylist after having Tyson Daniel in Utah. (http://www.myspace.com/tysondaniel) He was amazing and worth every dime of the 100 doller cut/color/stlyes I used to have done. Mommy time and money doesn't allow for the 100 doller stylist anymore, I know there are many in Las Vegas, but I couldn't get a super cuts or great clips either. My last experience was a complete disaster. This salon is called Tangles and I got a 35 dollar cut. She was well worth it! I will continue to go back to her for a long as I live here. Hooray!! I was excited to have enough length to not have to go shorter then my chin. I am very pleased with the results. Now I just have to get my blonde on!! This is my new natural color. I was born a blonde so where did this brown hair come from?? Who knew I also had some natural curl. Did this happen from pregnancy?? LOL!! More pictures to come. This is one from moms night out on Saturday!

MOVING, MOVED, and SCORPIONS.......

This last week we made the move to the new house. What a trial. I have moved twice pregnant before and both in the middle of the heat of summer but this was the worse move yet. I am 23 weeks pregnant and having some horrible pains that have made it almost impossible for me to walk on some days. I have had to sleep in the recliner because the pain is so bad when I lay down in bed I cry out. I thought it might be a vericose vein in but the Dr has ruled that out. He checked me this last week and says all looks good. I had another ultrasound and more bloodwork. Baby is looking good. I am having a year of mystery pain that is all normal. My mom thinks maybe a pinched nerve. I am going to check into chiropractic. Needless to say it caused me to pack at a snails pace of not more than 5 boxes a day. Lance was a trooper and was packing and making at least 2 loads a day once we got the keys to the house. However I highly underestimated the space in a Uhaul trailer to our big things. We were trying to save money. Trailer 6x12 = 29.99 for the day Truck= closer to 80 when you add gas and mileage. Sam and some guys from church were the Heros who showed up to help. I was so embarassed as I realized this trailer fit our mattress set, our sofa, a dresser, the futon, and a few other odds and ends. Our driveway still had the office furniture and our bedroom dressers plus all the boxes we were still going to take over on our own. These guys were here to load us up that is it. I didn't want them to wait all day for us to come back for a 2nd trip. I am very thankful to one of the guys who offered his own trailer and three of the guys came with him to help unload on the other side. It is hard to live in a city where we still don't have a lot of friends and family to call on for help and it is harder still when I have a very hard time asking for it. The kids were making messes behind my packing. Liam got in the fridge and threw eggs all over, They unboxed, they dug up my plant and got dirt all over etc. At the last mess they made I felt so overwhelmed I just screamed at the top of my longs and then I felt better. We are unloaded in the new place Our garage is full of boxes from front to back a ton are unlabeled so I dont know where anything is. My house is a mess of boxes and furniture in various rooms. I wish I could snap my fingers and make it organize itself. I got a sand and water table for the kids for the backyard off craigslist and they play for hours at a time. Liam still likes to dig in the rocks and play with those, however now I have reason to not want them to play outside especially in the rocks unless I am watching them every single minute. Last night I was getting dinner ready and I turned around and almost stepped on a scorpion running across the floor. I screamed and stepped back and called Scorpion Scorpion. Okay as much as I hate cochroachs I think I'd rather deal with those over a Scorpion. Lance came to get it wanted to save it but of course we are not unpacked and so he had to squish it. Then we went and looked it up to see what kind it was. The websites say most scorpions are fairly mild in north america with the exception of the bark scorpion. Guess which one we had..... Yah the bark scorpion. Scorpions tend to stay toward the ground except the bark scorpion which can climb walls and be found behind pictures on your walls. Scorpions are mostly found alone EXCEPT the bark scorpion who are generally found in family and groups. Their venom can kill small children and seniors. The only solace I have is that I can't find any deaths by scorpion listed for Nevada and only a couple from AZ where these guys are acctually from, they come to Nevada on all the Palm Trees we plant here. We also have the hospital right around the block, but still that does not give me piece of mind. I had the Pest Control come out before we moved in and he told me he added the Scorpion spray for free which is normally 40 extra so I am hoping this is just one guy who was running but now I don't know what I am going to do. Lance is going to take a black light to the back yard hopefully tonight and see what he can see. I was hoping to never see scorpions in our stay here! This makes me so full of anxiety. I want to get the boxes unpacked asap so they aren't on the ground letting those little guys hide under them. I swear I am going to get blacklights for the nightlights so when I get up in the middle of the night if I see anything glowing I can avoid it and get it out of here!

Why did they make the jury watch a child rape video tape?

I am so disterbed by this trial of Chester A. Stiles that is going on in Vegas right now. A video was found of him raping a 2 year old girl shortly after we moved her. He was apprehended and now is on trial. It is bad enough to know that a tape is there as evidence, it is bad enough to have to listen to the man that found it tell what is on the tape so why did the jury and several media people have to watch the video? I do not understand the purpose of havine to view it with a witness testimony and I believe an FBI statement as to what was on the tape as well. I don't know if that was part of the jury questioning that they had to answer to be seated, that they would be ok watching this or what but I would be sick, I would not want to have that 15 minutes played for my eyes to see a sweet 2 year old girl be violated by this man. If child pornography is so illegal and forbidden which it should be, why have innocent people have to watch it. My vote to convict would be sealed just by the witness testimony not by haveing to view such a tape. And why oh why was any media allowed to be present. To me this if it had to happen should have been shown in a sealed chamber and not outside media agency should have seen it. Who chose to watch it?? I can't imagine being a reporter saying "Oh pick me pick me I have to see this tape!" It makes me sad and sick at the same time!! Is it just me?? What are the laws on this?? This surely makes me never want jury duty!! Here is a link to one of the articles.
