Another session.....

I had my 2nd photo session with someone I didn't know.  Someone who saw my photos in someones house and asked who did them and called!   It is thrilling.  This is also my first session that will be ordering prints from me instead of just getting a disk.  I think the session went well.  After the sun set a little the light was gorgeous and for being over 100 degrees out my clients weren't melting away.   However I am learning something quickly..... we are our own worst critic!   You know when you look at yourself in the mirror and see all the flaws that nobody else notices?  This is the 3rd time I have had beautiful photos be not liked as much by someone seeing flaws that weren't there!  Serious!  I am finishing up editing and will present them this weekend.   This getting things going is really a roller coaster.  Things I didn't even think about.  It is thrilling and disappointing at the same time.  I also wish I could get people to loosen up quicker.  Although photos shot at the beginning of a session are nice, you can see the rigidness that is gone by the end of a photo shoot! :) My lens is also really really really awful.  When I fell with it a while ago it made it loose but not it is getting worse.  I have a lot of slightly blurry shots because it just pops out of focus!  I am dreaming of my new camera and lenses!   If I try to shoot facing down or up I almost have to keep it in auto focus because it just falls in or out of itself :( But the good thing in all of this is if I am taking good photos with this camera and this cruddy lens I will be amazing when I step up to the pro model and have lenses that work!  :) Here are a few from my session and I think they are beautiful!

Baby C

Part of learning and growing my business is first times.  This was my first 2 month old session aside of my own.  She is a cute girl but was not in the mood to be a model!  We had to get creative with the shots and acctually put the fuzzy blanket and the tule over the mom and have her hold the baby so she wouldn't cry.  I got a few good shots!  :)

Summer Fun..... and what has been going on.

We ended the school year and officially have a kindergartner on our hands.  She is on the count down for school to start.  We have zone varienced her into Lance's school for this year, next year we have to really on the lottery to place her.  I do not want her to go to the school around the block that we are zoned for.  It is not a very good school!  I have also moved into an official spot in the PTSA as a Parent Rep and will continue to be boxtops coordinator. I am really excited to be a parent not just the wife of a teacher.    We have enjoyed some summer activities taking a hike up red rock canyon on the children's trail which was a mile in total.

It was a perfect day for a hike. We had a nice breeze.  Pierce was a little hesitant at first but was ok after the picnic lunch.  I took a set of photos on the way out of my red chair.  I have decided this chair is going to be a 12 month calendar and is going to be the object of my affection for a while.  We also made a trip to the children's museum, our pass is good until the end of July and we need to use it a little more.  Lance's parents are coming to visit for his birthday so we will take them there.  The kids have fun.

We still have yet to visit Lake Mead and I would really like to sometime this summer even though it is really hot.    We got our yearly pool for the kids, since neighbors in our old house flicked cigarettes over the fence and burned holes in the last one.  It is a little big so we can't fill it all the way but the kids are loving it,  the pitfall we leave it up more often and the kids can't just go out and play while it is filled.

On other happenings.... Rori had her first dentist appointment.  She did great and had no cavities.  I had a long and painful sick time with my #14 tooth.  After it broke there was the initial root canal which got infected and then I had a reverse root canal by an endodontist which got infected again and then finally had to have it pulled.   I was so not wanting to have it pulled but I finally feel normal again.  I can't believe a tooth can make you so sick!
Lance's sister Rebecca was able to come visit again.  It is nice to be in a convention towns sometimes where employers can pay for a family visit!! :)  The kids love her!  Pierce called her Auntie Weega.  It was a nice visit, I always enjoy visiting with her.
